These terms govern your use of Faceplacer, an AI avatar generation service operated by Daniel Howells. By using our service, you agree to these terms.

Service Description
Faceplacer provides AI-generated avatar images via a web interface and API. Avatars are synthetic images created by artificial intelligence and do not depict real people.
Account Registration
To access certain features, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and API key.
Acceptable Use
Generated avatars are synthetic faces. Use them responsibly. You agree not to:
- Generate images intended to represent real, identifiable people
- Create deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading content
- Produce illegal, harmful, or offensive material
- Infringe on any third-party rights
- Circumvent usage limits or abuse the service
- Resell or redistribute the service without permission
Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to use Faceplacer. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Subscriptions & Payments
Free Tier
Free accounts receive a limited number of avatar generations. Free usage is subject to change without notice.
Pro Subscription
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly through Polar. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Polar customer portal. Access continues until the end of your current billing period.
Refunds
Due to the nature of digital services, we generally do not offer refunds. If you experience technical issues preventing service use, contact us and we will assess on a case-by-case basis.
Intellectual Property
Generated Images
You receive a license to use avatars generated through your account for personal and commercial purposes, subject to these terms. We retain no ownership of images you generate.
Service Content
The Faceplacer website, branding, and underlying technology remain the property of Daniel Howells. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our service without permission.
API Usage
API access is provided to Pro subscribers. You must keep your API key confidential. We may rate-limit or suspend API access if we detect abuse. You may use the API for:
- Your own applications
- Commercial projects
- Server-side integrations
Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Faceplacer and Daniel Howells shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Daniel Howells from any claims arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
